Nestled in a Book

I happened upon this book by accident. I'd just finished reading a book, and was fully intent on reading a specific book next when I found this one. I read the synopsis and something in it called to me. I was not disappointed!

Room for You is one of the sweetest, most heartfelt, honest stories I've ever read. I love everything about Brody and Kacie. I also adore Lucy and Piper, Kacie's twin daughters, who are fondly known as "the Twinkies".

Kacie and her girls live with her mom while she goes to nursing school. They live in and operate the Cranberry Inn and Kacie helps her out there in exchange for having a place to live and helping her with the girls. When the worst storm in years rolls in, it dumps several people on their doorstep who've been stranded or can't travel in the weather any longer. One of those people is Brody Murphy.

I don't know what I was expecting when I knocked on the door to this inn, maybe a little old cat lady or a family of cannibals in the woods? Whatever it was, it definitely wasn't her. A pint-sized little cutie whose sparkling green eyes nearly knocked me on my ass.

Brody is an extremely famous hockey player but by a stroke of luck, nobody has recognized him. For a change, he just gets to be Brody Murphy - the guy, instead of Brody Murphy - Captain of the Minnesota Wild hockey team. He and Kacie get to know each other over the next couple of days while he's stranded there and he becomes interested in her. But Kacie's had a rough past and her heart is closed to anyone who isn't family.

"You were so scared, Kacie, just like you are about life. I wanted you to see that sometimes, even when something terrifies you, if you just give it a chance it's actually pretty incredible."

This is a sweet, romantic tale of a girl with scars who lives her life carefully and guarded, and a guy who is determined to make her enjoy life.

"Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie. Some are good; some are bad. You and the girls are definitely one of the good. The best good there is and I'll fight like hell to keep you here."
