Ohhh…. I don’t even know where to begin. I don’t know what I can say about this book without majorly spoiling it. I don’t know whether to love or hate Ms. Linde. I don’t know anything anymore! I know I’m being slightly dramatic but I don’t care. What’s real? What isn’t? Which way is up?
Since I don’t think I can sufficiently tell you much about this book without completely spoiling it (which is part of what makes it so great), I’ll just tell you about how I feel about it. I understand why she took the book in the direction she did. It makes sense and I’m happy with the outcome but it was not at all how I thought it was going to happen. She’s kind of the master of that though, isn’t she? Having the story go every which way except the way you thought it would.
Lexi made me so angry in this book. I always cheered her on in Avoiding Commitment and Avoiding Responsibility, but this time around I wanted to smack her most of the time. She kept getting herself in these situations that had me yelling “REALLY?”. I love that K.A. writes characters who are flawed but damn. Stop putting yourself in these ridiculous situations, girl! Or at the very least, when you’re thrust into one, make an effort to get out of it!
This book was a good conclusion to the series. I didn’t love it nearly as much as AC and AR, as those were both 5-shining-gold-stars, but this was a solid 4 and I feel content with the way it ended. Although, I do wish there was more of a conclusion for one certain character in particular….
If you were a fan of this series, this is a must read. Find out what happens to Lexi. Does she choose Ramsey or Jack? What about John? The answer might surprise you.
As I’ve said before, I’m a huge K.A. Linde fan. I’m so looking forward to Off the Record.
